The Meridian Water Strategic Infrastructure Works (SIW) project has been awarded a ‘Good’ Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) Compliance Certificate by Cleaner Construction for London. This recognition highlights the project’s commitment to minimising emissions through the use of low-emission construction machinery.
Meridian Water SIW is one of London’s most ambitious regeneration programmes, led by Enfield Council. The Strategic Infrastructure Works form a crucial early phase of the development, delivering the essential utilities, roads, and public spaces needed to unlock thousands of new homes and jobs in the area. Cognition Land and Water has been working in partnership with Taylor Woodrow since mid-2024 to deliver enabling and infrastructure works at the Meridian Water site. As part of this collaboration, Cognition has played a key role in ensuring full compliance with NRMM requirements - capturing plant data, managing emissions records and closely coordinating with the supply chain to maintain high environmental standards.
NRMM compliance is a critical aspect of responsible construction in urban areas. It ensures that construction machinery meets strict emissions standards, helping to reduce air pollution and its impact on local communities. Certification from Cleaner Construction for London is a mark of best practice in environmental performance.
“As a certified carbon neutral company, we are deeply committed to sustainable delivery,” said a spokesperson from Cognition. “This certificate is a testament to the hard work of the entire team in maintaining rigorous compliance and driving forward greener construction practices.”
Congratulations to everyone involved in the Meridian Water SIW project - this is a meaningful achievement and a step forward in sustainable regeneration.
