Construction News has reported that the ground engineering sector has remained largely robust and resilient throughout the pandemic with limited falls in revenue and profit. It is great to see that CN has recognised Cognition has gone further than that and bucked the trend reporting that Cognition, “which has expanded from its original focus of land remediation to deliver more groundworks, saw a 15 per cent increase in revenue. Its £1.4m rise in pre-tax profit was also the largest among the top 10”. It should be noted that the CN article was based on our accounts up to March 2020 and Cognition is pleased to report that we have continued our steady and sustainable growth throughout 2020 and into 2021.
Although being a top 10 ground engineering contractor is not a key driver for Cognition (providing high quality, innovative and sustainable solutions to the ground engineering issues faced by our clients is what gets us out of bed each day!), it is pleasing to be recognised as a key player in the ground engineering contracting industry and making a difference in our sector.
