Cognition making headway with Former Landfill Regeneration

11 October 2022

Great progress is being made by the Cognition Land and Water team on the remediation and ground improvement of a former landfill site in Greenham Lane, Newbury for our client Persimmon Homes. The regeneration of this site will provide 150 badly needed new homes in the area along with associated landscaping and public open space for the local community.

As part of our works, Cognition has completed the detailed design of a stabilised development platform, vegetation clearance, rolling dynamic compaction, gas mitigation vent trenches, stabilised pile mats, road formations and other enabling works. The remediation and ground improvement works are being carried out in strict compliance with planning conditions, remediation strategy, construction environmental management plan and various other regulatory permits, licenses and controls.

The remediation and ground engineering of the Greenham site brings forward a disused and under-valued site to create new homes and facilities for the local community. It also adds another former landfill site to our repertoire of regenerated former landfills. If you would like to discuss how we can take away your development ground risks, please get in touch on enquiries@cognitionltd.com.
