Our talented chemist has continued her excellent form following selection to the GB Lightweight Women’s Double.

The international season kicks off at the picturesque venue of Banyoles, site of the Barcelona Olympic Regatta in 1992. From May 29-31 the world’s top rowers will test each other on the water.

Following successful trials at Hazewinkel, Belgium a new look British team will line up for the World Cup. Sophie will take her place with Olympian Hester Goodsell in a very competitive event with most nations rebuilding their combinations from Beijing. We all hope she can repeat the gold medal performance in the lightweight women’s quad at the 2008 World cup.

Other highlights in Banyoles will see Alan Campbell take his fast time from Hazewinkel to compete against all the Beijing finalists and Katherine Granger test her speed in the single for the first time since 1998 in the World Cup.
