17.09.08 New Contract Award – Regenerating the WaterfrontCognition has been awarded the remediation contract as part of ambitious plans to regenerate the Nene Waterfront area of Wisbech. The project is enabled by £10 million of public funding from a unique partnership between several bodies: Fenland DC, East of England Development Agency, English Partnerships and European Regional Development Fund.

01.05.08 Cognition Team Win Think 08 RegattaThe Regatta took place as one of the events included in the sustainability conference Think 08. 
25.04.08 Cognition and Jason Leonard attendance at Think 08 – Sustainability in the built environmentFormer England Rugby prop Jason Leonard OBE will race against teams from QS Gardiner & Theobald and South Bank University in the Think Regatta charity boat race, one of the events taking place as part of sustainability conference Think 08. 
01.11.07 Contract award by local authority with English PartnershipsEnglish Partnerships and Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council in partnership are responsible for the regeneration of Smithwick in the West Midlands. This is one of the nine pathfinder areas identified by the Government as requiring new and coordinated form of intervention to improve housing markets and regenerate neighbourhoods. 
08.10.07 Cognition Team win LBCC Class 1After five years of trying, the Cognition crew at last became Class 1 winners at the Little Britain Challenge Cup. Earlier years had achieved individual race wins and a second in cruising class but not first place overall in Class 1 Racing! 
01.11.06 Cognition secure contract direct for the Environment AgencyAfter an exhaustive selection process Cognition were successful in securing works directly for The Environment Agency in connection with the development of The EA Information Centre. 11.09.06 Little Britain Challenge CupThe LBCC is the largest corporate yachting regatta in the world. The event is also the biggest UK gathering of senior figureheads from the construction and property industry and one of the industry's top social sporting events of the year. Cognition have attended the event for many years and entered a boat and crew since 2002. 28.03.06 Little Britain - Guernsey Spring RegattaCognition has enjoyed successful participation in the Little Britain Challenge Cup for many years. This year sees our first entry into the Guernsey event starting on 19th May 2006. Whilst the number of entries will fall someway short of the 239 entered for the Cowes regatta in September, it still promises a high profile entry list and great fund raising potential. 19.02.06 Read all about itAs part of our continued awareness of contaminated land issues, Cognition provided AM Essential, a leading magazine for the motor industry, with consultation on their recent site contamination article with particular reference to fuel stations. 
12.10.05 the road to germany 2006The Cognition support team enjoyed a great night at Old Trafford to see England confirm qualification for next years World Cup Finals at the top of their group. 
18.09.05 Scottish Football Update... Not the World CupThe Cognition sponsored boys football team are doing well again. They are 2nd in the under 13 Scottish Eastern Youth League at present having lost three drawn one and won six. The top scorers are Tinashe Mukundwa with 16 goals and Liam O Donnell with 13. 
18.08.05 Boston Rowing MarathonA Cognition rowing team raised over a thousand pounds for Cancer charities at the Boston Rowing Marathon. The team was of mixed experience with commonwealth gold medallist and complete beginners alike. 
11.08.05 Little Britain Challenge CupThis years Little Britain Challenge Cup, the construction industry sailing regatta, was again a huge success for both the organisers and Cognition. The event raised more than £100,000 for the Jubilee and Cirdan Sailing Trusts and Cognition took an impressive two further trophies to add to the five won in earlier years. We took second place overall in our class and finished the highest placed boat including 50% female crew. Our team also finished second overall in the Project Managers category winning a fine bottle of malt whisky for our performance. 02.07.05 Tax incentives for contaminated landA tax relief for the remediation of contaminated land was introduced in the 2001 budget. Where the rules were satisfied, expenditure incurred after 10th May 2001 on remediation received preferential treatment for tax purposes. |
