Remediation Case Studies / Devon – Former Gasworks

A residential development required innovative solutions for the remediation of a former gasworks. Due to the nature and geography of the site, off-site disposal was minimised. The process used was ex-situ bioremediation to remove hydrocarbons followed by cement stabilisation to ‘lock in’ heavy metals. Processed material was then used as fill material following validation against site specific remedial targets.
